In January 2024, Venerable Capital and Jiangsu Yanghe Distillery Co., Ltd. signed a collaboration agreement, celebrated at a ceremony with the chairman of the group.

Yanghe Distillery is the first Chinese liquor production business group.

It was included in the list of Top 500 Chinese Enterprises, published by Fortune China for three consecutive years, and found its name on the Financial Times Global 500 list in 2012.

In addition, it was voted as BrandZ™ Top 100 Most Valuable Chinese Brands in 2014 and 2015, and ranked third in Brand Finance Spirits 50 in 2017.

The group owns two subsidiary brands, Yanghe and Shuanggou, both with more than 1,300 years of history.

Once again this year West Africa and Gulf Company LTD has honored to the best student of Spanish language at University of Ghana.

The Spanish Company, WAGCOL, encourages Ghanaian students to learn Spanish language and recognizes their effort through the Santa Isabel Gómez-Múgica Award.

The aim of the awards is to bring students into contact with Spanish culture.

The Modern Languages Department and WAGCOL team have granted the Santa Isabel Gómez-Múgica Award to the best student of Spanish language: Miss Nana Ama Gyamfua Gymfi.

The award was given by the Minister-Counsellor of the Spanish Embassy in Ghana, Mr Diego Espotorno, in the presence of WAGCOL Directors, Mr Alex Oman and Mr Miguel Sánchez.

ALQUEZAR FZE, as a Company belonging to the Venerable Capital Group, has participated for another year as an exhibitor at the Gulfood food fair, which took place from February 20 to 24, 2023 at the Dubai World Trade Center.

Gulfood is one of the fairs with the greatest international impact in the food and beverage sectors. More than one million square meters of exhibition space are home to 5,000 exhibiting brands, presenting more than 100,000 new products from 125 different countries.

The participation of the Venerable Capital Group in this fair gives us the opportunity to present our services and our wide portfolio of products and non-alcoholic beverages, thanks to the team of professionals who attended all the visitors who came to our stand.

This year, as a novelty, ALQUEZAR FZE has organized and sponsored the I Padel Tournament at the Padel Pro One Central facilities in Dubai, where our partners and clients have participated in a competition whose objective was to enjoy a sports activity, in addition to strengthening bonds and interpersonal relationships through sport.

New warehouses in Ghana.

Due to the growth of our activity of distribution and sale of different products in the African continent, the Venerable Capital Group has decided to carry out an important investment with the construction of its new warehouses in Accra, capital of Ghana. These will be the second warehouses owned by the Group in the country.

These warehouses will be built on a 1.23 hectare site in the North Legon district. It will have a storage capacity of 7,000 m2 and will have a specific area for cold or refrigerated products. The total investment also includes the construction of an office area, stamping, vehicle maintenance, as well as a Cash & Carry that will serve both as a showroom for our products and for the sale of our products.

To carry out this construction, a Spanish engineering firm, as well as a local architect and a construction company of reference in the country have been involved in order to guarantee the highest European quality standards without losing sight of the location of the project.

Venerable Capital, through its local subsidiaries COMET GHANA and WAGCOL, currently employs more than 200 local people and this investment is expected to increase. We feel that we are an important economic player in the development of the country.

This investment is part of the group's strategy for growth in the African market, with the supply of its network of establishments in the country as well as growth in markets in the different countries of the region.

WAGCOL fosters cultural cooperation between Ghana and Spain

West Africa & Gulf Company Ltd and COMET GHANA Ltd, as part of their objectives to promote business investment and cultural cooperation between Ghana and Spain, have sponsored a Flamenco Show at the initiative of the Embassy of Spain and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

Solidarity in times of crisis

On the 8th of April 2020, the Spanish companies West Africa & Gulf Company LTD (WAGCOL) and J. García Carrión (JGC) wanted to show their support to the Accra Police Administration in these difficult times caused by the COVID-19 health crisis.

The WAGCOL team, together with the JGC representative, presented 7,200 litres of Don Simon fruit juice to Mr. Nathan Kofi Boakye, Director General of Research, Planning and Transformation, who received the products on behalf of the Police Administration and expressed his gratitude for the support of the collaborating companies.

Spanish Company gives an award to the best Spanish student of Ghana University

The Spanish Company, West Africa and Gulf Company LTD, is the major importer and distributor in Ghana that has instituted an award to encourage the Spanish language within the Ghanaian community.

This award known as the Santa Isabel Award in partnership with Modern Languages Department of Ghana University rewards the best Spanish student at university.

This is the second year that this award is granted to, and Miss Suzzette Adzo Attopley was the winner this year.

The award was given by Mr Fernando Jorro (President of WAGCOL), together with Mrs Isabel Jorro (Chief operating officer), Mr Manuel Gil (Sales Manager), and Mrs Maria Perez de Arminan (member of the Spanish High Commission).

This Award will be run for 5 years to encourage more students to pick up the learning of Spanish.
